Optic Nerve serves a wide variety of clients including Rogers, CIBC and Labatt Breweries, among others. With thousands of assets to manage, previous desktop-level DAM solutions were not able to scale with the growth in business. Optic Nerve selected Xinet® WebNative® Suite not just for asset management, but also to manage workflow, usage rights, and for asset archival and retrieval.

“DAM is a huge component, not only for ourselves as a production studio but for our clients as well. It’s about giving them access to the assets and extending our desktops to them. We’re always looking at efficiencies and building that relationship with clients. That’s why we make them part of the process. It’s both parties coming together with a vision that makes sense for them,” said VP, Managing Director Morgan Chong.

Optic Nerve utilizes WebNative in many ways to meet client needs. For example, client approvals are expedited through Xinet’s triggers and actions feature. The moment a file is posted for a client, an email notification is sent, and the client can access the file directly, eliminating the need to review email attachments. Additionally, Optic Nerve is able to customize email groups to make the process even more efficient.

Optic Nerve also uses WebNative Suite internally among the staff. The studio is better able to track image usage and archive files that are shipped out on behalf of clients. The system is also used

to host the clip art library, which improves the ease of access and eliminates the need for duplicates. With WebNative Suite, Optic Nerve can do more with less because workers are empowered to get what they need themselves versus having to have that request fulfilled by someone else.

Adds Chong, “I benchmark my ROI by looking at the volume of work we push through versus our staffing model. By leveraging WebNative Suite, we were able to streamline our workflow to meet client volume and velocity. Efficiencies gained by automating tasks allowed us to push more work through the same sized pipe."

“At the end of the day, I’m a true believer that it’s not the application itself, but what you do with it. I’m positive that there’s all kinds of things we can leverage WebNative Suite for and haven’t thought of yet.”
