Grey New York Gains Efficiency with Xinet WebNative SuiteGrey New York, the flagship advertising agency of Grey Worldwide, retains an extensive client roster including many of the world’s best-known brands like Procter & Gamble, GlaxoSmithKline, Canon, 3M, and Eli Lilly. With such high-profile clients, Grey New York is accessing and storing thousands of assets at any one time. |

Prior to installing the Xinet® WebNative® system in 2003, Grey relied on company-wide file servers and removable media such as CDs to manage their assets, which proved time-consuming and inefficient. When Grey decided to set up an in-house prepress studio, the agency recognized that they needed a robust digital asset management (DAM) system such as WebNative to transfer large files more quickly and refine the maintenance and management of their entire asset library.
As a vital component of Grey, the studio is constantly under pressure to meet requests and deadlines in a timely manner. Today, with the WebNative system fully integrated into the studio’s workflow, requests can be met more efficiently. FTP sites are regularly set up for transferring jobs, using WebNative for referencing older jobs, and tracking the files in which images have already appeared. “With the WebNative system, everything is integrated seamlessly. The studio team does a lot of file transferring; setting up FTP sites through the WebNative system has been fast and easy,” said Phil Henry, technical manager of Grey New York. Outside the studio, art directors and account staff also benefit from the WebNative system, especially the freedom to work from anywhere at anytime. They can leave the office and set up a workspace remotely, with the ability to pull files from the server, make edits, and upload the revised versions back onto the server at their convenience. Assets can also be monitored and approved for use ensuring that the correct file is accessed. |

We’ve been using the WebNative system for a number of years and it’s entwined in many areas of the agency. We use the WebNative system every day and just can’t live without it.” |
